Therapy and Advocacy

We are a multi-disciplinary team offering specialist therapeutic support for children, young people and parents in a way that is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed and grounded in compassion. We offer a wide range of evidence-based approaches including CBT/DBT, person centred counselling, family work and trauma focused therapies.

Our approach is flexible, child-centred and transdiagnostic, which means we do not work from a narrow, one-size-fits-all model. Instead, we think carefully about the whole picture: emotional distress, trauma, neurodivergence, life experiences, relationships, and the wider systems around the child or family.

Therapeutic Support

Young people are facing a mental health crisis, yet families are too often left to navigate a confusing maze of services alone. We step in to bridge that gap. Beyond providing direct therapy, we also help families understand and access the support they are entitled to from Local Authorities and CAMHS through our advocacy services.

Our approach is flexible and child-centred. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, we look at the whole picture: trauma, neurodivergence, life experiences, relationships, and the wider systems around the child or family. This allows us to deliver individualised care while mobilising the necessary resources for children and their families.

Advocacy

Many parents feel lost in complex systems, struggling to access advice or support. It can be a constant battle to be taken seriously or to navigate time-consuming processes just to get your child’s needs acknowledged and met.

With decades of experience working with CAMHS, schools, and Local Authorities, we understand these struggles well. While working for the NHS, we led major projects within CAMHS and across support services to streamline processes, remove barriers, and improve accessibility. This included writing and implementing the Greater Manchester Crisis Care Pathway, which ensured all services worked seamlessly and organised themselves around the needs of children, rather than expecting families in crisis to navigate the system alone.

We believe passionately in a ‘no wrong door’ policy. Sadly, we are well aware that problems with access and being heard remain widespread.

We therefore offer a dedicated service to families where we liaise on your behalf: contacting services, attending meetings, writing letters, communicating needs, and informing parents of their rights. While we cannot guarantee how a service will act, we can certainly act as a powerful and credible voice on your behalf.

Why families choose Aspire Therapy Services

We have spent decades at individual, service and national level, championing the rights and needs of children in distress from both within and outside the NHS. Our ethos is rooted in compassionate, flexible, accessible and effective support and advocacy to help children thrive. We are deeply committed to supporting children and families when they are at their most vulnerable.

We routinely monitor outcomes using our own bespoke measure -The SPIRAL Radial. This tracks progress on 6 scales related to real-world functioning, such as Resilience, Independence and Relationships, allowing children and families to track progress in real time throughout their involvement with us.
