Neurodivergent Therapeutic Peer Mentoring
We offer neurodivergent therapeutic peer mentoring for children and young people who may benefit from support that feels relatable, affirming and emotionally safe.
This support is person-centred in its foundation and integrative in its approach. It is designed to provide a supportive relationship in which a young person can feel understood, build confidence, explore challenges, and develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance.
Peer mentoring can be particularly helpful for children and young people who are navigating neurodivergent identity, emotional distress, social challenges, school-based stress, low self-esteem, change, or feelings of difference and isolation.
How does Neurodivergent Therapeutic Peer Mentoring work?
Therapeutic peer mentoring is tailored to the individual young person and begins with understanding their needs, strengths and goals.
Sessions are relationship-based and responsive, drawing from a person-centred base while using an integrative approach to support emotional wellbeing, reflection, confidence-building and practical coping. The focus is on creating a supportive space where the young person feels heard, respected and encouraged to develop in ways that feel meaningful to them.
