"I am pleased to say that we have worked with Aspire for a couple of years and have no doubt that they have helped to equip our staffing teams with the skills and knowledge to deliver therapeutic care for our children.

It is a priority within our training model to offer the SPIRAL training to all staff so they have a full understanding of the model, and this fits closely within our ethos and goals. The SPIRAL model is fully consistent with OFSTED standards and as well as delivering positive outcomes for children, we have received very positive feedback from our inspectors.

Since receiving the training the staffing teams are more confident within their approach, and they have a clear framework provided by the therapeutic model which helps support their decision-making skills. Consistency is very important, and we have witnessed first-hand the benefits of this when caring for children who struggle emotionally.

This model has totally pushed our thinking and practice to be outside of our comfort zone, but the outcomes and responses from young people has by far exceeded any expectations.

    Definitely our model of choice!"

"Aspire, using the SPIRAL Therapeutic Model of Care, working both directly and indirectly with young people has enhanced the lives of many of the young people that have lived with us and continue to do so now.

Our staff teams have benefitted greatly from the training provided. Working directly and indirectly in teams, alongside experienced Aspire therapists, has enabled us to provide more caring, stable and safer therapeutic placements for young people.

We work with some of the most complex, damaged, vulnerable and distressed young people in the country, and we would not be able to do this effectively if it were not for this intensive expert led care provided by Aspire. Our staff have been trained in the SPIRAL Model of Care and can also refer to the Manual when required. All homes have embraced this therapeutic way of working. We would not be comfortable working with anyone else."

"I first came across Dr Krissie Ivings when I was Responsible Individual for a children’s home breaking frontiers in providing follow on community care for extremely vulnerable young women. Aspire worked closely with us, training the staff team, developing a shared vision of care, risk management and creating a team ethic across roles.  We began to make huge progress. A shared management approach gave the whole team confidence which in turn was reflected in the service we offered.

Unlike any other health partner with whom I have worked over many years there was no assumption that social care was in some way subservient to health. Children’s challenges were met and supported holistically with seamless movement of staff across professional boundaries whilst still recognising the different key aspects of individuals’ responsibility.

For the children, it was life changing as realistic opportunities were identified and enabled.

I am aware of her work both with other residential childcare providers and in the wider sphere of adolescent mental and emotional health support. It is evident that her skills simply expand. Krissie is a genuinely inspirational leader and colleague with whom it has been a privilege to work and learn from."
