We believe the most important element of any care or foster placement is the quality of the environment in which a child is living. A safe, structured, predictable, nurturing environment is the foundation on which other work rests. Achieving this can be highly challenging when carers are faced with behaviour that is chaotic, destructive or distressing such as self harm, risky behaviour, aggression, absconding and suicidality. We have developed a comprehensive training programme for Care Home staff, foster carers and allied professionals to enhance the quality of care they offer. The courses focus on improving psychological understanding of attachment & child development, mental health and emotional well being, understanding and managing risk, developing staff resilience and fostering co-operative, professional team working among staff teams. We offer a range of courses from 2 hour to week-long courses. We can also write bespoke training to suit individual needs.
